Ever wonderd why items glow a certain colour? Well heres the formula for it:
Basically, - and + means the stat is minus or plus, for example. +07 Blue = That item is 7 above average,
and -04 grey means that item is -4 average. You can basically work out how 'godly' your item is with this guide.

HP/MP seems to work at a 10HP/1stat and 10MP/1stat basis.
Every other extra stats count (Weapon Def, magic Def, Avoid, etc)
Items which are below average (-1 and on) will be grey, regardless if scrolls were used.
Grey is (-X) where X is any number.
White is 0 - 5 when not scrolled successfully (Item Name (+0)).
Orange is 1 - 5 when an item is scrolled at least once successfully.
Blue is 6 - 22.
Purple is 23 - 39.
Yellow is 40 and onward (no limit).
Simple Conclusion:
Grey <= (-1)
0 <= White <= 5 [Non-Scrolled]
0 <= Orange <= 5 [Scrolled]
6 <= Blue <= 22
23 <= Purple <= 39
40 <= Yellow
